Tuberculous osteomyelitis involving the short tubular bones of the hands/feet in children.

Appearance

Expansile, cystic destruction of a phalanx with soft tissue swelling.

Differential diagnosis

• Syphilis
• Sickle cell dactylitis (Hand-foot syndrome).
